WBPC2019 Abstract #20

Government energy regulators are demanding substantial greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions from industry in the near future. While CO2 is a major concern, the need to address large methane emissions from the oil and gas sector is intensifying.

The Centre for the Demonstration of Emissions Reductions (CeDER) is a mobile field-ready platform established by SRC that provides real-world testing, demonstration and validation of emissions reduction technologies. Designed to accelerate industry adoption of practical, economical technologies, CeDER offers independent, industry-recognized, third-party confirmation of performance.  Our scope extends from low- to high-volume sources, from fugitive emissions to process venting to large plants.

CeDER encompasses mobile facilities for real-world technology validation and air quality monitoring, established protocols, a database of nearly 400 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction technologies, and access to SRC’s state-of-the-art laboratories. In this presentation, SRC discusses how the elements of the CeDER program combine with SRC’s expertise and experience in the oil and gas sector to provide an essential service.
