To register for the Core Workshop you must also be registered as attending the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference – either the technical conference or the business conference.

Two sessions will be offered with a maximum limit of 50 delegates in each session.

Workshop Instructors:
  • Brian Brunskill – Geothermal Energy Potential of the Northern Williston Basin.
  • John Lake and Arden Marsh – Migration of Hydrocarbons and Spill Point Concept at the Tilston/Alida Beds Unconformity
  • Arden Marsh – Paleotopography on the Sub-Mesozoic Unconformity and Reservoirs of the Mississippian Midale Beds in the Pinto Pool of Southeast Saskatchewan
  • Celine Chow – Sedimentology and Diagenesis with respect to the Reservoir Development of the Mississippian Midale Beds in the Pinto-Roche Percee area, southeastern Saskatchewan
  • Peter Hill – The Impact of Salt Dissolution on Hydrocarbon Distribution within the Mannville Group in West-Central Saskatchewan
  • Meagan Gilbert – The Dinosaur Park – Bearpaw Formation Transition in the Cypress Hills Region, Southwestern Saskatchewan, Canada.

This workshop will consist of a series of 6 presentations of core and associated research, for various oil plays in the province. It will be very interactive with authors presenting their findings utilizing core and posters. After the presentations there will be plenty of time to interact with the authors over the core, and dig deeper into the nature of these oil plays from a geological perspective.

The workshop, presented by the Saskatchewan Geological Society. Space is limited to 100 persons over two sessions (AM and PM) and lunch will be provided.
