Dr. Janis Dale is an Assistant Professor in Geology and Associate in Geography at the University of Regina. She has degrees from Guelph (B.Sc.), McMaster (M.Sc.), Queens (Ph.D.) and is a registered P. Geo with APEGS. Her current research interests include Quaternary deposits and Upper Cretaceous paleosols, paleoecology and sedimentary history of sites in southern Saskatchewan. She heads up the University of Regina GeotherURmal working group and geothermal applications in southern Saskatchewan. In addition, she has projects on the geological siting requirements of small modular reactors in Saskatchewan, specifically geological features of surficial deposits and Phanerozoic formations that may limit placement. Dr. Dale was awarded a Fellowship in Canadian Geoscience in 2016 in recognition of service to the Provincial (APEGS) and National Geoscience Councils, and was the recipient of the University of Regina Alumni Association Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2015.
